Terms of Use

K-LIFE (the "Service") is an independent K-Culture portal published at klife.news. These terms apply to everyone who reads the Service, joins as a member or writes for it.
Reading does not require an account. The clauses on accounts, writing and K-Life Talk apply to signed-in members.
1. The Service
K-LIFE publishes stories about Korean culture in Korean and English and provides translations in other languages. Stories are news, blog posts or guides. Each story shows its type, its author and when it was published or updated.
Translations are published separately after the original has been reviewed. Where a translation and the original differ, the story in its original language prevails.
2. Accounts and age
An account is needed only to write, take part in K-Life Talk, save or follow, and manage your own settings. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in details private.
You must be at least 14 years old to join if you live in Korea, and at least 16 if you live anywhere else, including the European Economic Area. Your region is the country you choose when you sign up, or the region you connect from if you do not choose one.
We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. A suspended account cannot publish stories or post in K-Life Talk. We tell the member why and accept an appeal.
3. What writers publish
Writers keep the rights to their own work and allow K-LIFE to publish it on the Service, translate and display it in other languages, and quote or feature it in the newsletter and across the site.
Writers must have the right to use every image, quotation and video they add, and must state any economic relationship with a product or business they write about. Editors review a story before it is published and may ask for changes or decline it.
4. K-Life Talk
Members may post and reply in K-Life Talk. Members keep the rights to what they post. To provide the Service, K-LIFE may display those posts on the site and show machine translations of them in other languages.
- Posts that sell or advertise, carry affiliate links, ask for contact details or infringe the rights of others are not allowed.
- K-LIFE may hide a post or restrict posting in line with reports and its moderation policy. We tell the member why and accept an appeal.
- The original text of a post deleted by its author is kept for 90 days, and of a post hidden by moderation for one year, and is then destroyed.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- post unlawful content or content that infringes the rights of others
- disguise advertising or affiliate links as ordinary recommendations
- collect data from the Service by automated means in a way that disrupts it
- attempt to access accounts, drafts or administration screens that are not yours
6. Advertising and external links
The Service carries advertising, which is always labelled. How advertising is placed and disclosed is described in the Ad policy.
Links to other sites, including advertisers and video platforms, lead to services we do not control. Purchases and bookings made there are between you and that business.
7. Accuracy and corrections
We work to keep stories accurate and we mark updates. Prices, schedules and availability change; check with the venue or seller before you rely on them.
If you believe a story is wrong or infringes your rights, contact us at the address below. We may hide the story while it is reviewed.
8. Limits of liability
The Service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, K-LIFE is not liable for loss caused by interruptions or errors of the Service, by failures of third-party services, or by the content of posts made by users.
9. Changes to these terms
When these terms change we publish a new version with its effective date on this page and keep earlier versions on record. Changes that are unfavourable to members are announced at least 7 days before they take effect.
